Heartbreakers Come Together On 2 CD's

Heartbreakers

Some people say that music is a form of magic, for it has the ability to change someone's mood. I have to agree with this, as it is something I can always rely on to make me happy, calm me down, make me cry, or just make me feel that I'm not the only one who feels a certain way. Music is one of the few things in this world that truly is universal.  Out of all the different styles of music out there, my favourite type is ballads. I always love listening to the emotion in a singers voice when singing about their lost love, or how much they love someone. When you look at my cd collection, the number of ballad cd's I have outweighs the rest.

With the just-released compilation, Heartbreakers, there are a lot of songs that I love, both recent and from the past.  Some of these are Annie Lennox's Why, Evanescence's My Immortal (the original version), Dido's White Flag, and ABBA's The Winner Takes It All ... and these are all just on the FIRST disc. Of course, there are also the classic ballads that every good compilation should have, such as R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts, Jewel's Foolish Games, Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U, and Nick Cave's Into My Arms.

On Disc 2 are some of the less-known (but equally powerful) ballads, such as Ben Folds Five's Brick, Tori Amos's Winter, Lamb's Gorecki, and Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, and some classic tracks like David Bowie's Space Oddity, Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees, and The Smiths' Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want.

For anyone out there that enjoys ballads, this is DEFINITELY a must-have for your collection, with so many themes ranging from breaking-up, death of a loved one, obsession, love, and even abortion.
