Timbaland makes it eight in a row

Spending their eleventh consecutive week in the top ten, Timbaland and OneRepublic have scored the number one position for the eighth week in a row with the worldwide smash hit Apologize.

With a limited number of new releases this week, it was time for previous chart entries to work their way up in the charts.

Kanye West, Young Divas and Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em were the biggest movers on this week’s singles chart, moving up ten, nine and twelve positions respectively.

You know that downloads play a part in the music chart when (wait for it)... Alvin and the Chipmunks are in the top fifty. I kid you not. And it’s not just once, along with Timbaland, Mika, Fergie, Sean Kingston, Delta Goodrem, Fall Out Boy and The Veronicas, the trio have two charting tracks with Funkytown and Bad Day. The only artist to top all of the above is Rihanna, with three tracks currently in the top fifty.

It was all about bullets in the albums chart this week with no new entries. The official stars of the week are Alicia Keys, Fergie, Britney Spears, The John Butler Trio, Daft Punk, Rogue Traders, Amy Winehouse and Miley Cyrus, all of whom moved up significantly on the charts.
