Katy Perry has become only the second artist in Australian music history to top the singles chart based on download sales alone.
I Kissed A Girl had stormed up Australia’s Digital Track chart in recent weeks, but had this week gained enough sales to go all the way and take the top position in the charts.
Perry knocked off Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown’s duet No Air from the top position of the combined singles chart, and also has clocked up her second week on the top of the Digital Track chart.
On the albums chart, Coldplay has beaten three high debuts to maintain its stay at the top for a fourth consecutive week with Viva La Vida.
