Sidetracked Artist Line Up Saturday March 15
CARL COX
Put simply, Carl Cox is without doubt the most recognised, decorated, and acclaimed DJ in the history of dance music, worldwide. A certified legend in his own lifetime, for the last 20 years Cox, or ‘Coxy’ as he’s affectionately known across the globe, has pioneered DJ’ing as we know it. Renowned for delivering marathon sets which fuse genres seamlessly and take crowds from Techno to House and back again, what Carl Cox doesn’t know about spinning tunes isn’t worth knowing! From being the first man on Earth to play three turntables at once, to forging iconic labels like Intec Records and 23rd Century Records; and from remixing everybody from The Stone Roses to Grooverider, to even appearing in the motion picture ‘Human Traffic’: there’s literally nothing this doyen of dance hasn’t achieved in his wizardly career …
THE POTBELLEEZ
“The fastest rising stars of the dance scene” – Tim Duggan (Rolling Stone).
When freakish talent is mixed with fate, there’s no telling what can happen. Dishing up breathtaking DJ sets over 6 dex, touring the world and producing the duuuurtiest damn house music your ears have ever heard, the Potbelleez have a sixth sense for what makes the dancefloor swoon. Many would say it was destiny. Dave Goode and Jonny Sonic – both Irishman looking for a new start – left their homeland in 2001/2 respectively. Both we’re looking to make things happen for themselves, but could never have predicted the impact they’d have. The Potbelleez are now based in Sydney and have played more than 150 shows across Australia in 2007 alone. ‘Don’t Hold Back’ is their latest single and it’s causing a buzz on dancefloors around the country.

THE CAT EMPIRE
Fireworks are standard accessories with this band – factor in Ollie McGill (keys), ‘Jumps’ Khadiwala (decks), Ryan Monro (bass) and Will Hull-Brown (drums) – but this year's new, smouldering shades of subtlety are likely to be a revelation to anyone who's caught one of the Empire's 600 roof-raising shows between Melbourne and Montreal these past six years. The Empire's roots are in the late night jazz clubs of Melbourne, but they've since sprouted wings over the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. Like some kind of funky circus troupe, they roll into town, sell twice as many tickets as the previous visit, and a truckload of CDs on the way out. Their self-titled debut album scored double platinum sales and 7 ARIA Nominations in '03. The first single from So Many Nights ‘No Longer There’ debut at #1 on the Australian charts in 2007.
TOM MIDDLETON
Tom Middleton has been at the forefront of cutting edge dance music for over 10 years. After graduating in Graphic Design in 1991, Tom met Mark Pritchard, a DJ with similar musical tastes. The pair recorded under a host of pseudonyms, the most popular of these was Jedi Knights, whose album 'New School Science' inspired everyone from The Prodigy & The Chemical Brothers to Daft Punk & the Freestylers. Since this, Tom has released material as Amba, The Mod Wheel and Cosmos. Tom Middleton is a sonic explorer without rival. Through his productions, remixes and legendary DJ sets, he has travelled to the farthest corners of sound. He has consistently broken new ground in electronic music, and set the standard that others rarely reach.
NORMAN JAY
Norman Jay is arguably one of the finest and most respected deejays in the world today. His MBE awarded for "deejaying and services to music" – was a fitting tribute in recognition of his many achievements and contributions to popular dance music in a career spanning over two decades. With the global rise in interest in UK deejay and dance culture, Jay has once again found his niche being extremely popular with a new generation of dance fans around the world. He regularly plays at a host of clubs, festivals and parties worldwide. Whether it's playing upfront disco fuelled funky house in the nations main rooms and festivals or his much vaunted old skool jazzfunk, hip hop or chilled out beats in the back, he still manages to inject his rich musical heritage and quality in every set he plays. Quite simply Norman Jay is 'The deejay's DJ'.
