Imagine you had the opportunity to present your songs to a panel of music mentors for genuine feedback.

And imagine you could perform your song at a music expo showcase, which will play host to a number of influential music professionals from Australia and around the world.

With the inaugural APRA|AMCOS Song Summit Sydney (S3) music expo just over one month away, S3 organisers are proud to announce two very special opportunities for Australian songwriters to have their music seen and heard by an impressive array of industry panellists.

Taking place in Sydney on April 3rd to April 5th, 2008, Song Summit Sydney will gather a host of music professionals – from songwriters including The Shins’ James Mercer, Sandi Thom, Josh Pyke, Jimmy Webb, Savage Garden’s Daniel Jones, Jenny Morris and Evermore’s Dann and Jon Hume to managers, publishers, producers, marketers, lawyers and more – for three days of specialist workshops, panels, key note speeches and live performances.

As part of this three-day feast, S3 is presenting LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, a rare opportunity for songwriters have their music heard and discussed by a panel of music mentors. The panellists will include a range of songwriters, publishers, managers, broadcasters, producers and A&R professionals who will publicly review pre-submitted songs and provide advice and feedback. While not for the faint hearted it is a fantastic opportunity for songwriters to receive genuine constructive comments on their songs. LISTEN TO THE MUSIC is open to all 3-day registered delegates for SONG SUMMIT SYDNEY.

But wait…there’s more. As part of the LISTEN TO THE MUSIC submission process, songwriters also have the opportunity to submit for a live showcase performance. The PLAY THE MUSIC Showcase is an APRA|AMCOS hosted event for up and coming songwriters to showcase their talent.

The PLAY THE MUSIC showcase will take place on Thursday 3 April 2008 (6:30pm – 8:30pm) and 3 performance opportunities have been allocated. This is the opening night of SONG SUMMIT SYDNEY so all eyes will be on this special showcase event.

LISTEN TO THE MUSIC and PLAY THE MUSIC is open to all registered 3-day delegates for SONG SUMMIT SYDNEY. If you wish to submit to the listening panel for SONG SUMMIT SYDNEY please go to: www.songsummit.com.au where all details and terms and conditions are available.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get in front of music mentors who could help shape your future!
