Powerhouse entertainer Vanessa Amorosi will join KISS as a special musical guest at the 2008 FORMULA 1™ ING Australian Grand Prix.

The acclaimed Melbourne singer will perform the Australian national anthem to race goers and a massive worldwide audience before the running of the Formula One race on Sunday, 16 March. 

The singer and her band will then be the special guests playing before KISS at the spectacular concert to close the event on Sunday evening.  She will also perform with KISS at their Sydney concert at Acer Arena on March 20.

Vanessa is set for a fantastic 2008 with the release of a brand new album “Somewhere In The Real World” in May.  Following the success of her first single in five years “Kiss Your Mama” late last year, comes the album’s second single “Perfect” set for release to radio on March 31.  

Vanessa’s unmistakeable voice sounds better than ever, and she is undoubtedly set for a hugely successful year.

Vanessa is thrilled to be involved in this year’s event.  “Having raced cars before and being a huge Grand Prix fan, I am excited to be singing the National Anthem and to be performing at the post-race Kiss concert. If pre-season testing is any indication, Mark Webber could be a real chance of a podium. I'll be trackside, cheering him on along with the rest of the crowd!" 

Of course Vanessa is no stranger to performing at major events.  Among her many career highlights is performing at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and the Manchester Commonwealth Games.

Since moving out of her teens, Vanessa’s taste have become a little heavier and more soulful, finding inspiration from the 70s rock legends such as Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, which is reflected in her new music.

As one of the few Australian artists to sell one million albums, one thing’s for sure, Vanessa is an extraordinary performer and she is looking forward to rocking the Grand Prix!
