It has been two years since Kelis last appeared on the Australian charts; in 2006 the R&B singer peaked at number eighteen with the lead single from her fourth studio album Kelis Was Here entitled Bossy. Did you think you were never going to hear from Kelis again after that? I don’t think so!
Following its inclusion in the revitalized advertising campaign for the eighth series of Big Brother which is scheduled to launch tomorrow night, Kelis has literally come from nowhere to climb to number twenty-nine on the Singles chart, and has reached a career high of twenty-two on the Digital Track chart with what has now become the highlighted track from her fourth album for Aussies, I Don’t Think So.
But why settle for just the top twenty? The chart boomer is currently sitting at a very healthy number twelve on the iTunes songs chart.
Kelis’ latest top thirty appearance is the sixth for the American, whose better known hits include Milkshake and Trick Me, both of which made the Australian top five.
