Electronic Duo Goldfrapp announces new album and USA tour.
UK Electronic Duo announced recently that their new album, Seventh Tree will be release February 26th and is a far cry from their 2005 Grammy-Nominated album Super Nature. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, the duo who make up U.K. electronica act Goldfrapp claim they needed a move away from the electronic-filled music of Super Nature with this new album.
"It was really nice sitting around with a couple of instruments and a voice and doing something polar opposite of the prolonged sound of 'Supernature,"' Goldfrapp told Reuters UK in a recent interview. "We wanted that space and warmth that we were missing." Their previous album climbed to Billboard Top 100 list and kept strong international popularity.
They haven’t toured since that last album. But with this new mellow vibe, Seventh Tree promises to be different and still have the same soul that Goldfrapp is known for. To promote the album, Reuters UK has reported that the duo will make an appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA in April (stay tuned to GenerationQ for continuing coverage of the Coachella Festival). This appearance will kick off a 20 – 25 market USA tour (and international tour to follow).
