Armin moved Melbourne for 9 straight hours..

Armin Only was not just an event; it was a 9hr spectacle of sound, light and vision that featured special international acts and live performers.
The massive arena that is Vodafone Arena provided the venue for Armin Van Buuren to bring his Armin Only show to the next level, which he did in amazing style. Thousands of tune hungry fans arrived, and when the arena was nearly full, at 12:30, the warm up set suddenly stopped and the room fell in to darkness. The never-disappointing set up from Future Entertainment.

There was much anticipation as we all watched the curtain awaiting the appearance of the one and Only Armin. You could not take your eyes away from the curtain out of fear you would miss his first appearance!Nearly an hour passed and the sheet was still yet to drop, building greater anticipation amongst the crowd, when suddenly the gorgeous Jennifer Rene arose from behind the curtin with a microphone, and the deep bassline from Sied van Riel’s remix Invincible began causing a oar of silent across the crowd.  She sang impeccably to the delight of the crowd. With a start like this, we all knew we were in for something special. This was followed by Lenny Kravitz’s track Believe in Me remixed by Mind One, Deadmau5’s remix of Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and Sander van Doorn’s remix of SIA The Girl you lost to Cocaine. instantly grabbed you when you descended into the ‘pit’ within the arena, which boasted two huge screens on either side of a massive cylindrical curtain that surrounded a projected silhouette of Armin’s figure. Upon the roof were white stars and coloured spotlights.

The time finally arrived…. A Thunderous heartbeat pounded throughout the speakers, everyone frantically screamed Armin’s name repeatedly. A voice rang through the venue “IMAGINE”, whilst words he spoke flickered upon the screens. “Welcome to Armin Only,” and a medley of Armin’s best tunes like Sail, Communication and Serenity soared through as he said, “Imagine a world without boundaries… What would the world look like without imagination? The crowd was in a hysterical frenzy and suddenly, the piano from Armin’s track Imagine played, his white silhouette posed with his headphones in the air, and guitarist Eller van Buuren launched onto the stage, striking chords on his guitar. “Look to the sky, visualize the music… Welcome to our world,” and the curtain fell, revealing the man… ARMIN!

Armin began with Lemon & Einar K’s Anticipation and from here he took things a little harder with Alex M.O.P.H, Nadia Ali Who is watching, Cosmic Gate This World is Watching Me with a mix of many more killer hard beats. The crowd was absolutely lapping it up. It was a moment of sheer delight for all involved.

John O’Callaghan arrived on stage not long after to perform ’07 anthem Big Sky and his own Hold On To Me, both with Audrey Gallagher providing the live vocals had the crown rocking, with all the laser and flames going in unison and the crowd loving. Then it was straight back to Armin on the decks as he kept things ticking along nicely

It was now 6:30am, though it definitely didn't feel like it had been eight hours earlier that Armin first appeared on stage. But the room was still as full now as it was then, as nobody could possibly leave during Armin's explosive set. Armin continued to bang it out with LSG’s Netherworld, HuHRG’s Dreamland. Then came Armin’s final tune of the night from his Imagine album In and Out of Love.

Wooww…Armin Only certainly lived up to his billing as the world No 1 DJ, taking us all to a level that we could never have imagined before.
