Kaye Sera Gives Audience the Full Lube Job

Published Apr 8, 2008
Kaye Sera Full Lube Job 2

Melbourne singing drag queen extraordinaire Kaye Sera has done many shows around the city, and has decided to dedicate her new show, The Full Lube Job, to mechanics.  The Full Lube Job features many original driving songs, such as Truckin' Trannie and Roadkill Cafe, as well as new twists on classics like Pull Up To My Bumper and Mustang Sally.

Kaye sings all these songs masterfully, with Anthony Aris on guitar and backing vocals, and is able to keep her audience glued to her performance, laughing hysterically with some of the anecdotes and lyrics she comes up with!  For example, when singing Mustang Sally, Kaye changes some of the lyrics and makes it sound even dirtier than it already can (with lyrics like "all she wants to do is ride around, Sally" ... could it be that Sally is a bit of a town bike?)

With only one costume change (very rare for a drag performer, as we all know!), and interaction with the audience throughout, The Full Lube Job is one show that you must go see before it ends!  Make sure you keep your eye out for Kaye's hilarious slide show during the costume change!

Kaye Sera: The Full Lube Job is on at 9.30pm until April 12th at the Mechanics Institute Performing Arts Centre, cnr Sydney and Glenlyon Rd's, Brunswick.  To make a booking, call 9305 5333.  This show is also double-billed with Out Cast Theatre's new comedy, Four Queens 3, so turn up early to see this as well!
