PNAU Bring the Party to the Brewery this NYE!!

Published Oct 1, 2008
PNAU NYE

Sir Elton John considers them the best Australian band he’s tuned into in the last decade and that admiration, along with their defined and incredible live performances has catapulted them to the forefront of the music consciousness around the world. In fact Elton’s approval has gone as far as seeing these Sydneysiders signing to his own UK management company. Of course we’re referring to PNAU who will return to Newcastle to embrace their Novocastrian fans with a huge party this New Years Eve at The Brewery.

Lauded by international press after amazing shows throughout Europe, including a stand out performance at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival in the UK, PNAU have morphed their live show into quite a spectacular with special guests, including their now trademark life sized animated assorted fruity characters! Join them as they create an infectious electro rock show when Newcastle welcomes in 2009 at The Queens Wharf Brewery!

Newcastle’s leading foreshore venue will come alive on December 31st with PNAU bringing their audio visual extravaganza to the show when they deliver tracks from their highly acclaimed ARIA nominated third album. Be sure to don your dancing shoes as they move through hits such as ‘Wild Strawberries’, the contagious ‘Baby’ and the more recent entrancing ‘Embrace’, all glued together by some seriously energetic live drumming, spinning samples, and tribal chants to create a mutual enthusiasm as 2009 chimes in.

Since they were unearthed by Triple J in 2002, they’ve been constantly evolving but the core of the band has always remained the brother and sister duo of Chris and Pia Colonna. The Brewery welcomes Australian hip hop rock band Bumblebeez to compliment the show this New Year’s Eve. Their royally titled debut album ‘Prince Umberto & The Sister’ scored a nomination for the prestigious J award with its dizzying trip through popular music from yesterday to tomorrow. From Braidwood, to Botswana to Bombay to Brooklyn with bits and pieces of doo wop, garage, punk rock, hip hop, reggae, RnB, grime, and acid all seeping into the mix you can expect a raw and ridiculously lively set from Bumblebeez at The Brewery this New Years Eve.

Sydney based Snob Scrilla, with his four piece live band, will mix it up this New Years Eve at The Brewery as they blend the cutting edge grunge of indie rock with rhymes of conscious hip-hop and synths reminiscent of the 80’s to create seriously innovative sounds. Known for their high-impact, raucous and dangerously fun live shows, expect a hugely entertaining set from Snob Scrilla as they continue on their mission to redefine the sounds of music!

Party DJ’s Amez, Boogie, D*Steady and Matt Saxon will spin tunes to complete the line up this year.

After nine years of New Year’s Eve celebrations at The Brewery, this year there’s a special offer for early bird arrivals, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm ticket holders will be granted a free sausage sizzle and complimentary soft drink on arrival to the venue. Also as a reminder The Brewery is a fantastic vantage point to view the fireworks which take place at 9.00pm and Midnight.

The fusion of electro techno rock, will have you enthralled and excited this New Year’s Eve and you can expect a few surprises when PNAU and friends, along with Bumblebeez, Snob Scrilla and a range of party DJ’s take to the stage at The Brewery on December 31st!
