Mexico City, Mexico (January 21, 2008): In a press conference today, Paul Tollett the head of Goldenvoice announced this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival Lineup. The music festival, in its 9th year has been named the premier North American music festival, will take place from April 25 - 27 in Indio, CA. Tollett also announced a new music festival in the Coachella spirit, All Points West, August 8, 9, and 10 at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Beyond the line-up announcement (see below), COACHELLA promoters detailed their plans to make tickets and travel packages directly available to music fans throughout Mexico. "This is a really a way for us to get closer to our fans throughout Latin America who have been supportive of Coachella for the past 10 years," says Goldenvoice's Paul Tollett.
Most notably on this year's Coachella ticket is Portishead, who has been rather reclusive for the past 10 years and Roger Waters who will be performing the entire dark side of the moon album. Based on Tollett's press conference and press releases by Goldenvoice, here is the updated and most complete lineup. We have also indicated our "top picks" next to the acts we are most excited to see here at GenerationQ. Paul Tollett did say at the end of the press conference that they have a few "tricks up their sleeves" -- so, we will be anxiously waiting for any additions in the coming weeks.
Tickets are on Sale Friday (1/25) at 10:00am Pacific Time via all Ticketmaster outlets! A 3 day pass will set you back $269.00 and 3 day camping pass $55. If you want to go for just one day, individual day tickets are available for $90.00
